Police have arrested two more people from India in connection with the attack of businessman Bikram Lama in Lazimpat, Kathmandu.
A team of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office has arrested Ajay Lama, 33, of Kakani-4, Nuwakot, and Deepak Baramu of Arughat-7, Gorkha.
It has been revealed that Ajay was the kingpin of the group involved in the attack. After the attack, they reached Jhapa and hid in Durga Prasai's house. However, when the police arrived to search for them, they managed to escape from there. The police have arrested them from Haryana, India.
A case has been registered against them, including seven others, on the charge of seriously assaulting businessman Lama by hitting him with an iron bar. The case has been registered at the district court seeking an imprisonment of 10 years for them along with a fine of up to Rs 100,000 for the crime of murder.
Similarly, a demand has been made before the court to pay appropriate compensation to the victim.
The defendants are Ajay Lama, 33, of Kakani Rural Municipality-4, Nuwakot, Shailendra Tamang alias Marshall, 30, of Tokha, Belkotgadhi Municipality-12, Nuwakot, Deepak Baramu, 24, of Arughat 7 in Gorkha, Nischal Sunar, 28, of Gorkha, Laxmi Rai, 50, of Dharan Sub-metropolitan Municipality-13 in Sunsari, residing in the UK, Ramesh Silwal of Jwalamukhi Rural Municipality-4 in Dhading, and Sijan Adhikari, 30, of Arughat Rural Municipality-8 in Gorkha.
Of them, Ramesh and Laxmi, who are said to be the masterminds of the assualt, are still absconding.
