At a meeting held at Lainchaur-based office of the Vice President, matters related to bilateral relations between Nepal and Japan, high-level exchanges, economic cooperation and collaboration and bilateral trade and investment were discussed.

On the occasion, Vice President Yadav said the two countries have a persisting historical relation, and since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1956 the Nepal-Japan bilateral relations have advanced with further closeness and friendship, his secretariat shared.

The Vice President further said that Nepal has accorded high priority to the relationships with and cooperation from Japan. The two countries have enjoyed century-old social-cultural relations influenced by the teachings of Lord Buddha – the Light of Asia, Vice President Yadav highlighted.

He noted that Japan has remained a crucial and trustworthy development partner for advancing Nepal's social and economic developments. "Nepal wants to reap benefits from Japanese experience, knowledge, skills and technology in several areas, including industrial development, agriculture, hydropower and infrastructure", Yadav stated.

Ambassador Noru said Japan would continue its cooperation to Nepal and the Nagdhunga tunnel way beign constructed with Japanese assistance ould come into operation this year. He expressed gratefulness to Nepal for its decision to participate in the 2025 Osaka Expo.
