Thick fogs and cold waves have descended upon the eastern Terai districts, bringing the normal life to a grinding halt.
With the cold wave sweeping across eastern Terai districts, the children and the elderly have been hit the hardest, Koshi Province PABSON Vice President Arjun Basnet said.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division has said that the cold is likely to increase further in the coming days.
The various parts of the country including the eastern Terai districts have been engulfed by fogs throughout the day, triggering cold waves.
Commuters, students, daily wage earners, children, and the elderly have been affected, said Ram Kumar Karki, the chairman of Sundarharaincha Senior Citizens Society.
Meanwhile, the cold wave has led to an increase in the number of patients, including children, the elderly, and individuals with heart, asthma, lung, diabetes, and other chronic illnesses, seeking medical attention at district hospitals.
