Nepal has faced a 15-run defeat at the hands of Netherlands in the ongoing Women's T20I Tri-Series at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
Netherlands restricted Nepal to 125 runs in the allotted 20 overs while the latter was chasing the 141-run target. To prevent Nepal from reaching the target, Iris Zwilling, Caroline de Lange and Heather Siegers grabbed two wickets each while Eva Lynch and Isabel Van Der Woning took 1 wicket each.
Nepal's cricketer Indu Barma's 30-run score was the highest for Nepal followed by Samjhana Khadka with 23 runs while Puja Mahato and Kabita Joshi notched up 18 and 14 runs, respectively. Similarly, Sita Magar contributed 10 runs. The other batters could not achieve significant runs. Nepal had lost eight wickets for 125 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Netherlands notched up 140 runs losing 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Cricketer Babette de Leed topped the score with 41 runs including 4 fours and 1 six off 38 balls followed by Heather Siegers with 26 runs while Robine Rijke and Phebe Molkenboer contributed 21 each. The other batters could not achieve significant runs.
On the bawling side, Sita Magar took the highest 5 wickets giving away 12 runs followed by Manisha Upadhayay with 2 wickets while Kabita Joshi and Indu Barma grabbed 1 wicket each for Nepal.
This is Nepal's third consecutive defeat in a row in the ongoing Women's T20I Tri-Series. Netherlands had defeated Nepal in the first match and lost to Thailand in second match.
