The agitating parties against the Pathivara cable car construction project have demonstrated at Maitighar in Kathmandu, demanding protection for the Pathivara religious site in Taplejung district.
Mukkumlung Tangsep Chumbho and Mukkumlung Protection Inter-Party Struggle Committee have jointly launched the demonstration at Maitighar Mandala on Monday demanding the cancelation of the cable car construction project.

The protestors took to the streets sloganeering that the ongoing cable car construction project be stopped right away and resolve the conflict through dialogues without delay.
The Mukkumlung Protection Inter-Party Struggle Committee has been upping the ante in the eastern hilly districts for the last one week against the construction of the cable car project. The two-day bandh called by the agitating parties has come to an end today.

The government and the agitating parties have formed talk teams to facilitate the negotiation between the two opposing parties. The agitating parties have formed a facilitation team led by Amar Tumyang in which Shankar Limbu, Ram Maden and Saru Singak are members. The team members from the government side are yet to be disclosed.
The demonstration against the cable car project has reached Kathmandu – federal capital, which is over 500 km from Taplejung, where the project is located.
The protestors have also demanded the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak during the demonstration.
