The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has formed a three-member committee for the election of the leader of the parliamentary party (PP).

A meeting of NC's Central Performance Committee held at the party central office in Sanepa on Sunday made a decision to this effect.

Party Spokesperson Dr. Prakasharan Mahat said a three-member election committee under the coordination NC Joint General Secretary Bhishmaraj Angdembe has been formed for the PP election.

"A three-member committee has been formed to elect the PP leader," he said. "Other members in the panel are Pushpa Bhusal and Prakash Snehi Rasaili."

Mahat said that the election could likely be held on Tuesday morning. "If not, it can be held by Wednesday. As far as possible, we will try to pick a PP leader unanimously or else election can always be held," he said.
