The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has warned that it would halt no objection certificates (NOC) if the issue that cropped up following the death of Prakriti Lamsal, a Nepali student studying in third-year B. Tech at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University, were not addressed.
Issuing a press note on Tuesday, the Ministry has stated that it is coordinating with the concerned bodies in view of the difficulties faced by the Nepali students.
Similarly, the Ministry said it has urged the Indian side to take necessary steps toward resolving the difficulties faced by the students.
Meanwhile, the Ministry has also established a 'help-desk' and appointed three focal persons comprising Raju Shrestha, Devi Ram Charya and Sapana Khadka to support students affected by the incident.
The Ministry said it is undertaking a high-level initiative to address the challenges faced by the Nepali students and will take a strategic move to prevent such incidents in the future.
