Nepalkhabar correspondent Ujir Karki has been awarded the 'Chief of Army Staff Commendation Insignia' by the Nepali Army.
The honor was bestowed upon Karki at a function organized to mark the army's 262nd founding day held at the Army Pavilion, Tundikhel on Wednesday.
CoAS, Ashok Raj Sigdel, presented the insignia to Karki in recognition of his "timely and factual news reporting on the Saurya Airlines plane crash rescue efforts, which played a crucial role in disseminating accurate information to the public," according to the army.
In addition to Karki, other journalists were also honored with the Chief of Army Staff Commendation Insignia, including Hari Bahadur Thapa, Special Editor of www.bahrakhari.com; S Raj Upadhyaya, Editor-in-Chief of www.prashasan.com, Dhanapati Adhikari, president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Tanahun, and Bikash Rauniyar, Dhading correspondent for Annapurna Post.
