A youth has been shot dead at Dogadakedar Rural Municipality-8, Chausila, in Baitadi district.
The victim has been identified as Surendra Bista, 23, of Chausila, the District Police Office, Baitadi.
According to Police Inspector Baldev Badu of DPO, Baitadi, Karna Bahadur Bista, 40, shot at Surendra over a minor dispute on Saturday night.
Critically injured Surendra breathed his last in the course of treatment at the District Hospital. Surendra is a jeep driver.
Karna Bahadur opened fire on Surendra when the latter was taking meal at Chausila after parking his jeep.
Karna Bahadur is at large after opening fire on Surendra. The police have launched a manhunt for absconding Karna Bahadur.
