A press conference was organized in Hong Kong by Kirat Yakthung Chumlung (KYC), to support the "No Cable Car" movement against the Mukumlung (Pathibhara) Cable Car Construction Project in Taplejung.

The conference, held on Tuesday, featured a press release signed by Tilak Somai Magar, General Secretary of the Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities, Hong Kong chapter, Shamsher Tumbahamphe, President of Kirat Yakthung Chumlung, Bhupendra Chemjong, President of Mundhum Study Institute, Hasta Barunghang, President of Yakthung Original Culture Upliftment Association; Rabinkumar Nalbo, President of Yakthung Munchait Chok Sayang; Bhim Prasad Tumbahamphe, Vice President of Hakpare Palam Sayang; Shyam Ingnam, President of Yakthung Artist Society; Harish Lawati, President of Federal Limbuwan Social Forum; and Nabaraj Kandangwa, Coordinator of Province 1 Renaming Struggle Committee.

"...despite being aware of the opposition from local stakeholders, parliament, and national/international human rights activists... we strongly condemn and denounce the use of vigilantes, under the protection of the Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, to brutally thrash conservationists and render them unconscious inside their homes, leading to their disappearance," reads the press note.

The participants chanted anti-cable car slogans against the under-construction cable car in Mukumlung (Pathibhara). Since the start of the movement in the area, related organizations in Hong Kong have been conducting intellectual discourses, debates, and interactions.

The stakeholders chanted slogans such as "Cancel Mukumlung Cable Car Construction," "Stop Police Highhandedness," "Withdraw Armed Police from Mukumlung Area," "Compensate the Injured," "Our Movement Continues," and "Long Live Our Unity."
