Curfew and prohibitory orders issued in Sunsari

The Sunsari District Administration Office has issued a curfew order in various areas from 7:00 am today.

The Office has issued the curfew order until further notice in accordance with Section 6 (a) of the Local Administration Act, 2028 BS.

The curfew order applies in the Bhantabari Bazaar area up to Juniya Tole in the east, Ghuski Dhar in the west, Harinagar Rural Municipality Office in the north and Basantapur in the south.

Similarly, a curfew order has been issued in the area covering the Ghuski Bazaar area, which includes Moranga Dhar River to the east, Inglis to the west, Sunsari River to the north, and Harinagar Rural Municipality Office to the south, and in the Kaptanganj Bazaar area covering Yadav Tole to the east, Risal Secondary School to the west, Krishna Secondary School to the north, and the Nepal-India border area to the south.

Furthermore, Basti Bazaar area from Kasimiya Madrasa to the east, Ghuski Police Post to the west, Isha Hardware to the north, Dilshad Public School to the south and Dewanganj Bazaar area from Musahar Tole on the road to Biratnagar to the east, Moriya Khola to the west, Bidra Mills to the north and RM Office to the south also fall under the curfew order applicable until further notice.

Meanwhile, the Sunsari District Security Committee also decided to issue a prohibitory order in various places in the district, including the entire area of Harinagar Rural Municipality and the entire area of Dewanganj Rural Municipality.

This prohibits the gathering of more than five people at once from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm today.

Anyone violating the order can be fined up to Rs. 5,000 and imprisoned for up to one month, the office said.

The situation has been tense in Dewaganj area of Sunsari district after two rival groups clashed with each other on Sunday night. One killed and 21 injured after the security personnel opened fire in the course of taking the situation under control.
