A Nepali national living in Spain has been found dead in his apartment on Friday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Motiram Gautam, 59, originally from Pokhara metropolis-13, Kaski, and living in Lleida, Catalonia Province, for the past one and half decades.
Gautam's coworker Tarka Bahadur Baniya informed Gautam had contracted COVID-19 a week before his death.
"He was admitted to the hospital after contracting COVID-19. After returning from the hospital, he appeared at work one day. However, he was not reachable since Friday morning. When we went to check at his apartment, we found his body lying on the floor," Baniya said.
Family sources said that Gautam's final rites would be performed in Lleida itself on Wednesday evening.
Prior to final rites, Non-Resident Nepali Association Spain said a program to pay last respects to the departed soul would be held on Wednesday afternoon.
