Nepali Congress (NC) leaders have begun to take new sides as the party's parliamentary party (PP) election is fast-approaching.

NC leaders are getting divided along cross-factional lines after party President Sher Bahadur Deuba and General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa are set to contest elections for the post of PP leader.

General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has already seconded the candidature of another General Secretary Thapa in the NC PP leader election.

Meanwhile, Pradip Paudel, who vyied for General Secretary from Krishna Sitaula camp in the NC's 14th General Convention, is going outside of his camp to support Thapa.

With his announcement to support Thapa as the PP leader, Poudel has left the Deuba-Sitaula camp.

Leader Poudel, who was recently elected as lawmaker from Kathmandu constituency 5, had lost the elections in the 14th  General Convention.
