Kulman Ghising has filed a writ petition at Supreme Court against the government's decision to remove him as the Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

Ghising filed the petition through his representative at the apex court around at 5 pm, Supreme Court's spokesperson Achyut Kuinkel told Nepalkhbar.

Advocate Lokmani Pokharel filed the petition at the court on behalf of Ghising, mentioning the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Energy as defendants.

Ghising in the writ has sought a stay order on the government's decision to sack him and immediately allow him to carry out his duties.

The cabinet decision on Monday evening relieved him of his post and appointed Hitendra Dev Shakya as the new Managing Director in his place. Hitendra Dev has already started discharging his duties.
