The writ petition filed by Kulman Ghising, who has been removed as Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), has been registered in Supreme Court.

The writ petition which was filed yesterday was registered in the court today.

The writ has been scheduled for hearing on Friday, according to Nirajan Pandey, the spokesperson for the apex court.

Advocate Lokmani Pokharel on Wednesday evening filed the petition at the court on behalf of Ghising, mentioning the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Energy, Energy Minister Deepak Khadka, newly elected Managing Director Hitendra Dev Shakya as defendants.

Ghising in the writ has sought a stay order on the government's decision to sack him and immediately allow him to carry out his duties, arguing that the government's decision is driven by ill-intent and against the existing rules.

The cabinet meeting on Monday evening relieved him of his post and appointed Hitendra Dev Shakya as the new Managing Director in his place. Hitendra Dev has already started discharging his duties.
