Qatar govt grants amnesty to 18 Nepalis

The State of Qatar has granted amnesty to 18 Nepali inmates on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan and the festival of Eid.

However, the names of Nepali individuals who have been given amnesty have not been disclosed yet.

Issuing a press note on Sunday, the Nepal government has expressed its sincere gratitude to the Qatar government for granting amnesty to the 18 Nepali people.

"The Ministry highly values this kind gesture of pardon on the basis of humanitarian ground as an epitome of cordiality in the bilateral relations between Nepal and the State of Qatar," reads the press note issued by the Foreign Ministry of Nepal.

The decision of Amnesty and pardon was taken following the request of the Nepal government made through the Embassy of Nepal in Doha, Qatar.
