Six held for allegedly murdering and burying youth in Makalbari

Police have arrested six people in connection with the murder of a youth whose body was buried in Makalbari, Kathmandu.

The victim is 19-year-old Rahul Sah, originally from Chakrarghatta Village Municipality-8 in Sarlahi, who was currently residing in Bahundhara, Gokarneshwar Municipality-5. Sah had gone missing since March 24, and his body was found buried in the ground behind RK Motorcycle Workshop in Makalbari on March 28.

After receiving a missing person report at the Boudha Police Circle, police launched a search. Preliminary investigations revealed that the murder was related to a financial dispute, and those involved have been arrested, said SP Apilraj Bohara, spokesperson for the District Police Range, Kathmandu.

The arrested individuals include Nipu Mandal, 22, originally from Chakrarghatta-1, Sarlahi, now living in Bahundhara, Gokarneshwar-5. Bijaya Yadav, 18, Karan Kumar Mahato, 18, Jodhan Mandal, 23, Uttam Mandal, 45, Sunil Sharma, 29, originally from Bihar, India, now residing in Dakshindhoka.

Police said they are investigating the case after taking the detainees on a 5-day remand from the District Court, Kathmandu.
