Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has said that the party should learn from the experiences of past political parties and move forward by ending factional politics within the party.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the First General Convention of RSP in Bharatpur, Chitwan today, President Lamichhane claimed that if the party moves forward unitedly, the power to challenge RSP will not arise in the present era.
He urged party to properly value everyone's contributions, stating that it is always easier to accept someone else's sacrifice than it is to make your own. He further said that the first general convention of RSP should be an opportunity to end the misunderstandings and differences within the party.
He said, "At this time, if we do not go into factions and move forward by looking at the experiences of past political parties, no one can come forward in this era to challenge Rastriya Swatantra Party. But sometimes, what happens is that contributions and sacrifices are things that we feel happy about if others do it, and sad about if we do it ourselves. I would like to request you to be aware of this. I would like to wish that this historic general convention becomes a point of ending any animosity among us." He also expressed his belief that the general convention will make the party stronger and more united.
