President of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, stated that a republic is a system of the people, and his party will carry its flag.
Returning to the party's central office after six months in his capacity as president and presiding over a meeting, Lamichhane made these remarks.
"A republic is not the 'Oli system' nor is it the 'Deuba system.' A republic is a system of the people, and we will carry that flag," Lamichhane said, "Even the republic needs reforms. Here, every system must undergo a test of excellence—some have passed, and some have failed." He also mentioned about taking leadership for necessary reforms and outcomes under the current constitution and system.
He expressed his desire to bring major changes and restructuring within the party's organization. He also pointed out that the RSP is not a place for those who fail to find opportunities in other parties.
"The RSP is not just a place for those who couldn't find opportunities in other parties. It is a party where people come together to campaign for nation-building," he said. "Tell me what needs to be done. Write down in detail what hasn't been achieved within 15 days and what needs to be done. I am ready to work 24 hours for the party and walk hundreds of kilometers."
Additionally, he directed the party to organize its first historic national convention within the timeframe announced during the national assembly, reaffirming this commitment.
