The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has assigned its Vice President DP Aryal with the responsibility of Acting President. The decision was taken by the central secretariat of the party following the arrest of its president Rabi Lamichanne on Friday evening.
The Tulsipur Butwal bench of the High Court had issued an order to take Lamichhane into custody on Friday for investigation into alleged financial cooperatives' irregularities. He was arrested from his residence in Hattigauda, Budanilakantha the same evening.
Soon after, the party's secretariat meeting was held that decided to respect the court and the court's decision and move forward for justice in accordance with the constitution and relevant law.
Similarly, the meeting has directed that the mass meeting to be held in Bharatpur, Chitwan at 2 pm today be held in a peaceful and cordial manner.
