Former Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has been nominated as the vice chairman of CPN (Maoist Center).
An office-bearers meeting held on April 1 nominated Pun as a Standing Committee member as well as the Vice Chairman of the party, informed Maoist Center Secretary Leelamani Pokharel.
Pun had been invited as a guest to the Central Committee (CC) meeting of the Maoist Center in the fourth week of February.
Earlier, the Maoist Center had entrusted Pun with the responsibility of the Economic and Production Department. He had been attending the CC meeting as a guest member since then.
Pun, who had served as the Vice President for two terms, has now returned to active politics two years after his retirement.
Pun drew criticisms in and outside the party when he decided to return to active politics.
Pun had become the Vice President of the country from October 31, 2015 to March 20, 2023
