Nepal Bar Polls: Mishra leading with 340 votes

The vote counting of the Nepal Bar Association election held to elect a new leadership is continuing in the second day today.

The vote counting which stopped at 8 PM yesterday has resumed this morning.

With the latest vote count updates, Bijaya Prasad Mishra, the candidate for the post of chairman backed by the ruling alliance, has widened the lead with 869 votes. His rival Raman Kumar Shrestha from the opposition alliance has received 529 votes. Mishra is leading with the difference of 340 votes.

Similarly, candidate for the post of General Secretary, Kedar Koirala, from the Mishra panel has received 871 votes while Yagyamani Neupane obtained 456 votes.

The Bar election was held to elect a new 25-member central working committee on April 5.

The vote counting of ballot boxes from Parsa, Hetauda and Baglung is underway, currently.
