The Nepali translation of the 'BRI Blueprint', which compiles the achievements of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) concept put forward by the People's Republic of China, was released at a function held in the federal capital on Tuesday.

Nepali Congress leader and former Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala and other guests launched the Nepali version of the BRI Blueprint at a program organized by Friends of the Silk Road Club Nepal here today.

The Friends of the Silk Road Club Nepal has translated and made public the blueprint originally published by the Chinese government to document the decade-long achievements through BRI cooperation.

Speaking on the occasion, Congress leader Koirala stated that BRI is an unprecedented opportunity for Nepal and expressed confidence that this initiative will make a significant contribution to physical infrastructure and economic prosperity of the country.

Pointing out that access to international trade routes is necessary for a landlocked country like Nepal, she said that BRI can facilitate in this regard.

"The main goal of the BRI project is development and mutual benefit. It has given a message of hope for the future with sustainability, but the expected benefits have not been achieved from its implementation in Nepal. The main reason for this is the misunderstanding of BRI," said former Foreign Minister Koirala.

Shedding light on the blueprint, Senior Editor at the National News Agency (RSS) Mahendra Subedi, said that the BRI concept has opened a new path for humanity to experience modernization and has ensured initiatives taken to build a common future for the world community.

Stating that BRI cooperation has provided real benefits to the participating countries in a decade, he said that it has helped robust development through economic globalization as well as solving the complexities of global development and improving the global governance.
