Controversial Medical Entrepreneur Durga Prasai, who was arrested in Assam, India on Thursday, has been brought to the District Police Range, Kathmandu.

Prasai, the commander of the violent protest of the royalists in Tinkune, Kathmandu on March 28, had been absconding since that day.

Prasai, who was taken into custody by the Indian police on Thursday, was taken to Bhadrapur Airport this morning. He was brought to Kathmandu on a plane.

Two people died in the protest on March 28, while some are still undergoing treatment at various hospitals. The protesters also set fire to and vandalized some private and government facilities in the Tinkune area.

Prasai had fled after inciting the protesters to become violent. Now, preparations have been made to investigate him on four charges.

Attempted murder
Prasai himself, who incited the protesters to become violent, had also driven his car through the police crowd. Authorities are investigating a suspect for allegedly attempting to murder a police officer by deliberately running him over with a car."

Organized crime
He is also being investigated for the organized crime involving arson and vandalism during the demonstration. It is alleged that he was the mastermind of the protest. The protesters also set fire to private homes and herbal medicine factories.

Criminal mischief and offenses against the state
It is said that an investigation will also be conducted against him for criminal mischief and offenses against the state. Earlier, RPP Senior Vice President Rabindra Mishra and General Secretary Dr. Dhawal Shamsher Rana, who participated in the same demonstration, have been detained for investigation into organized crime, criminal mischief and offenses against the state.
