The trailer of the film 'Jar', which is set to be screened on May 9, has been released. The production company Fairy Tale Pictures has started promoting the film by releasing the trailer.
The film 'Jar' starring actress Geetanjali Thapa along with actors Saugat Malla and Anup Bikram Shahi is based on the historical story of writer Indra Bahadur Rai.
The film, which is based on a real incident that happened in Nepali society in the 1800s, depicts the environment of the then society aptly.
Director Phurba Tshering Lama said that it is a matter of pride in itself to bring a historical work to the screen.
He said, "We have tried our level best to give justice to the story of Jar. Bringing the story that we read in the book to the screen is a challenge in itself, we have made Jar with high reverence for the feelings and essence of Indra Bahadur Rai."
Actress Geetanjali is an Indian National Film Award winner. She won the National Award for Best Actress in India for her role in ‘Liar’s Dice'. Geetanjali has also acted in the Netflix series ‘Sacred Games’.
The entire film has been shot in Sikkim. Produced in collaboration with Hope Reels, LA-7 Shorts, Baral Studio, and Kiva Productions, the film is cinematographed by Saravanan Ilavarsu and edited by Akhilesh Rai.
