As many as 20 central committee (CC) members of the Nepal Women's Association, a sister wing of the ruling Nepali Congress, have tendered their resignations en-masse.
They tendered their resignations stating that the Association failed to effectively steer the organization in line with the statute and it would not be good for them to remain as a mute spectator at a time when the organization is on the downward trend.
They, in their resignations, have accused President Usha Raut Mishra of not running the Association in a transparent manner.
"The Association is on the downward trend due to the president's failure to run it in a transparent manner. In such a situation, we will not remain as a mute spectator. Hence, we have tendered our resignations en-masse for the bright future of the Association," reads the resignation.
Those who have resigned en-masse are loyal to the faction led by Dr Shekhar Koirala and General Secretary Gagan Thapa.
