Deputy General Secretary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Sumana Shrestha is set to tender resignation from her post.

She will tender her resignation in the central committee meeting to be held in the afternoon today, RSP Deputy Spokesperson Manish Jha said.

"She is tendering her resignation due to difficulty to simultaneously discharge duties of both as a lawmaker and party office-bearer," Jha told Nepalkhabar,"There is no particular reason behind her resignation. She is resigning on the concept of one person and one post."

The RSP is holding its CC meeting at 2 PM today.

A CC committee meeting held at Jaleshwar in Mahottari in the Nepali month Paush, 2080 BS decided to appoint Shrestha as the CC member of the party. She had become the Deputy General Secretary of the party through the same meeting.

After President Rabi Lamichhane returned to the party, Sumana floated a proposal for restructuring in the party.

"I found it difficult to simultaneously execute dual roles. Hence, I want to concentrate myself only on the duties of a lawmaker," Jha quoted Sumina as saying.
