In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Cabinet has promoted Joint Secretary Chandrakala Paudel to the post of Secretary.
A cabinet meeting held on Monday evening took a decision to this effect. She was among the top contenders recommended by the Promotion Committee, underscoring her exceptional service.
Paudel, who previously served as Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, now steps into the role left vacant after Secretary Arjun retired.
In another strategic move, the government recalled Kedarnath Sharma, Chief Secretary of Koshi Province, appointing him as Secretary at the Ministry of Land Management—bringing him back to Singha Durbar after a year.
Additionally, the Cabinet formed a High-Level Good Governance Commission, chaired by the Prime Minister, signaling a push for administrative reforms.
