Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and daughter of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, paid a courtesy call on President Ramchandra Paudel at the latter's office in Shital Niwas today.
During the meeting, Aliyeva conveyed a goodwill message from President Ilham Aliyev and emphasized the importance of strengthening friendship between Azerbaijan and Nepal. President Paudel recalled his visit to Baku during COP-29, describing his meeting with President Aliyev as highly significant and expressing belief that such bilateral engagements would further enhance relations between the two nations.
Aliyeva announced that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation plans to establish a rehabilitation center for underprivileged children in Nepal. She also shared details of her recent inspection visit to Kshetrapati Free Hospital in Kathmandu, where she donated NPR 500,000 in financial assistance.

During her hospital visit on Friday, an agreement was reached for an exchange program between Nepali and Azerbaijani medical professionals to foster collaboration in the healthcare sector. Dr. Manojman Shrestha, Chairman of Kshetrapati Free Hospital, welcomed Aliyeva and her delegation.
President Paudel expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s support and praised the initiatives of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Nepal.
Leyla Aliyeva arrived in Nepal on Thursday evening with a 10-member delegation via a chartered flight. Her visit highlights the growing diplomatic and humanitarian ties between the two countries.
