Adhikari appointed member of Governor Recommendation Committee

The government has decided to appoint former Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari as the member of the Governor Recommendation Committee mandated to recommend and appoint a suitable candidate to lead the Nepal Rastriya Bank.

Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, said so here today while unveiling the decisions made by the recent cabinet meeting.

Adhikari has been appointed in place of former member of the Committee Bijayanath Bhattarai, also former Governor, who had tendered his resignation.

Sharing a host of cabinet decisions, Minister Gurung, as well as Spokesperson of the government, further informed that the government decided to provide uniform to the armed forest guards working on contracts under the Ministry of Forest and Environment.

The government has also promoted a Brigadier General to Major General and two Colonels to the post of Brigadier General, the Minister added.

The latest notable decisions of the government include issuing an approval to launch temporary vacancies in the Health Insurance Board, Geta Hospital, Sushil Koirala Cancer Hospital and Dadheldhura Hospital in the current fiscal year 2081/82 BS to address the human resources crunches in these institutions.

Furthermore, the government agreed to approve the regulations related to Health Insurance (First Amendment)-2081 BS, Nepal Hajj Committee (Formation and Operation) Order-2081 BS and Nepal Smart City Indexes-2081 BS.

Also, the bill formulated to amend the Children Act-2075 BS has been allowed to be presented in the federal parliament, according to Minister Gurung.

Likewise, the nine-point agreement recently inked between the government and the Nepal Teachers' Federation would be implemented, said the Minister. (RSS)
