India carried out airstrikes in nine terrorist bases in early hours on Wednesday morning in response to the Pahalgam attack.
The Indian newspaper Dainik Bhaskar, citing local reports from Pakistan, stated that 30 people were killed in the airstrike in Bahawalpur.
However, Pakistan’s military spokesperson Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said 26 died and 46 others sustained injuries in Indian air strikes.
Targeted areas were Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba headquarters believed to be behind the Pahalgam terrorist attack that claimed 26 people on April 22, a claim Pakistan denies.
