Two minor girls missing in Trishuli River; search underway

Two minor girls have gone missing in the Trishuli River in the course of bathing.

Those missing ones are 11-year-old Jeni Dangol and Sadiksha of Belkotgadhi-7, informed SP Durga Raj Regmi of District Police Office, Nuwakot.

According to Regmi, they went missing in the course of bathing in the river yesterday evening.

"They had gone to bathe and wash clothes in the river at Kachaude Bhir in Belkotgadhi-7 on Tuesday evening," told Regmi, "After being informed about the disappearance of the minor girls by their relatives, a team of police fanned out to the incident site and conducted a search till late night. However, the missing girls could not be found. We are searching them even this morning."

According to their guardians, two 11-year-old girls and one nine-year-old boy went to bathe in the river. The boy returned home and informed them about the missing of his sisters.

A rescue team led by Assistant Police Inspector Bir Bahadur Tamang of Armed Police Force has been deployed to the incident site and is searching for the missing girls, said DSP Shailendra Thapa.
