Nepali national women cricket team has advanced into the ICC Women T-20 World Cup Global Qualifier by defeating UAE, with one match still remaining.
In the first match of the Super 3 of the World Cup Asia Qualifier held on Monday, Nepal made it to the World Cup Qualifier by defeating UAE by 5 wickets.
Thailand alongside Nepal has booked berth in the World Cup Global Qualifier. UAE, which faced two consecutive defeats, has crashed out of the Super 3. UAE lost to Thailand by 54 runs in the first match.
Chasing the 115-run target set by UAE, Nepal reached it in 19.3 overs losing 5 wickets.
Nepal's captain Indu Barma notched up 29 runs and remained unbeaten. She hit 2 fours off 27 balls followed by Rubi Poddar with 6 not out runs.
Opener Samjhana Khadka made 21 runs while Rubina Chhetri contributed 23 runs.
Similarly, Puja Mahato and Rajmati Airee and Kabita Kunwar scored 13, 8 and 5 runs, respectively.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss at the Terdthai Cricket Stadium, UAE notched up 114 runs in the allotted 20 overs losing 7 wickets.
UAE's Esha Oza topped the score with 39 runs followed by Satish with 21 runs. Similarly, Lavanya Keni made 12 runs while Heena Hotchandani added 20 runs.
Manisha Upadhyay grabbed 4 wickets for Nepal giving away 20 runs. Kabita Kunwar claimed 2 wickets while Rajmati Airee took 1 wicket.
Nepal will take on Thailand in the second match on Tuesday.
