Ncell has taken a significant step toward promoting digital inclusion by becoming the first Nepali telecom operator to sign the GSMA’s Principles for Driving the Digital Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities.
The GSMA (Global System for Mobile Communications Association), a global non-profit representing mobile operators, has established these principles to guide telecom companies in bridging the digital divide for people with disabilities. By signing the framework, Ncell reinforces its commitment to ensuring equitable access to mobile technology and digital services for all.
This initiative aligns with Ncell’s ongoing efforts to foster inclusivity, such as offering a 50% data discount under its Sadhain ON plan for persons with disabilities, maintaining accessible customer care centers, ensuring disability-friendly office infrastructure, and supporting Nepali para-athletes through partnerships.
As part of its pledge, Ncell will integrate accessibility into its corporate strategy, develop inclusive products, and collaborate with the disability community to better address their needs.
“At Ncell, we are not just enabling connectivity—we are empowering lives,” said Bishakha Lakshmi Khadka, Director of Ncell Foundation and Special Projects. “By committing to GSMA’s principles, we ensure no one is left behind in Nepal’s digital future. Together, we aim to build an inclusive society where everyone thrives.”
With this move, Ncell joins a global network of telecom leaders working to make mobile technology more accessible and empowering for persons with disabilities.
