Seven members of a family found dead in a car in Haryana, India.
Seven members of a family were found dead inside a car in Panchkula of the Indian State of Haryana.
Panchkula's Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Himadri Kaushik confirmed that all the deceased belonged to the same family and their identities have been established.
She stated, "Prima facie, this appears to be a case of suicide."
According to news agency PTI, they were members of a family from Dehradun. A Dehradun, Uttarakhand number plate was found on the car.
The deceased include a couple, their three children, and two elderly members.
Police reported that the incident occurred around 11 PM on Monday in Sector 27, and all the bodies were recovered from the car.
Even though it initially seemed like a suicide, the exact cause will come only after a postmortem, said DCP Kaushik. All forensic evidence is being collected, and an investigation is underway, he added.
