The dead bodies of a teenage boy and girl have been found in Udayapur.
The two bodies were recovered at Amalchauri in Chaudigadhi Municipality-4, said SP Harihar Yogi of District Police Office, Udayapur.
The deceased are 28-year-old Rabin Rai and Manju Rai, 14 of Chaundigadhi Municipality-4 on Wednesday morning.
Manju's body was discovered on the road near Amalchauri, while Rabin's body was found 200 meters away, hanging.
Ward chairman of Chaundigadhi Municipality-4 Lunga Raj Rai said the police have started investigating the case.
Locals have speculated that the boy murdered the teenage girl after rape and killed himself, eventually.
"Preparations are underway to take the bodies to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan for postmortem," SP Yogi told Nepalkhabar, "The police are investigating the case. Further details will be unveiled in a while."
A team from Area Police Office, Beltar led by Police Inspector Babin Rai reached the incident site and initiated the investigation.
Locals had informed the police after they spotted the girl's body early this morning.
The girl was a 10th grader at a government school, according to Ward Chairman Rai, while the boy, who had been staying in Kathmandu, had returned to his house to apply for his passport. He was planning to go abroad, according to his kin. Both the girl and boy were neighbors.
