The Sudurpaschim Province Assembly government has unanimously approved the proposed annual budget for the Province for the upcoming fiscal year 2025/26.

The provincial government had presented a budget of Rs 33.47 billion on June 15.

In today's Provincial Assembly meeting, Minister for Economic Affairs Bahadur Singh Thapa presented a proposal seeking the passage of the Bill related to the budget and financial proposal of the Provincial Government for implementation in the upcoming fiscal year.

Prior to the endorsement of the proposed budget, Minister Thapa said that debunking the notion that there is influence of brokers and middlemen in the budget was the major policy priority of the government.

Thapa admitted that many issues could not be included in the upcoming budget due to resource constraints. He, however, expressed his confidence that the suggestions received in the discussion would help make the budget more refined, people-oriented and result-driven.

During the meeting Minister Thapa had separately tabled proposals seeking deliberation on various bills related to the appropriation and expenditure from the provincial consolidated funds for services and operation for the upcoming fiscal year and the bills for implementing the government's financial proposal.
