Newly appointed Prof. Dr. Deepak Aryal took the oath of office and secrecy from Chancellor of Tribhuvan University and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
Prime Minister and TU Chancellor KP Sharma Oli administered the oath of office and secrecy to Prof. Dr. Aryal amidst a ceremony on Wednesday.
Minister for Education, Science and Technology and Pro-Chancellor, Raghuji Panta, among others were present during the ceremony.
Newly appointed Vice Chancellor Aryal is the former head of the Central Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. Prime Minister Oli appointed him from among three candidates recommended by the recommendation committee.
The recommendation committee led by Education Minister Raghuji Panta had recommended Aryal along with Khadga KC and Binil Aryal.
The post of Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University had been lying vacant since March 28. Khadga KC had been appointed as the acting VC after Prof. Dr. Keshar Jung Baral tendered his resignation from his post as the VC.
