Death in Gujarat bridge collapse hits 15 as 3 more bodies recovered

The death toll in the bridge collapse over the Mahisagar River at Vadodara in the Indian State of Gujarat has climbed to 15.

The Gambhira Bridge connecting Vadodara and Ananda in Gujarat suddenly broke down on Wednesday morning. According to Indian media outlets, five vehicles fell into the river.

The death toll reached 15 after three more dead bodies were recovered from the accident site today, The Hindustan Times reported.

According to a news agency ANI, four more people remain still missing and rescue operations are still underway at the site Vadodara.  "The death toll stands at 15 now with the recovery of 3 more bodies today. Four people remain missing. National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force are conducting search and rescue operations even till 4 km downstream," ANI reported.

Twelve dead bodies were recovered on Wednesday morning.
