A bus traveling to Dang from Kathmandu met with an accident in Kapilvastu, leaving 29 people injured.
According to DSP Mohan Mani Adhikari of the Kapilvastu District Police Office, the bus, Lu. P 02001 Kha 0045, was involved in the accident at 3:55 AM today.
"Among the injured, three are in critical condition," DSP Adhikari told Nepalkhabar. "The critically injured have been given referred to Butwal for further care after preliminary treatment at a local health facility."
The remaining injured are being treated at Sanjivani Community Hospital in Chandruta, he added.
The accident occurred at Beldandi in Buddhabhumi Municipality-9, Kapilvastu, along the East-West Highway.
"The bus lost control and overturned on the right side of the road," DSP Adhikari said. "The driver fled after the accident but has recently contacted us. Further investigation is underway."
He mentioned that all 31 passengers on the bus sustained minor to severe injuries.
