Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has directed to carry out investigation into the racketeers involved in sending individuals to the program in Spain attended by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi and Inspector General of Police Deepak Thapa have been instructed to investigate the group, the sources have said.
Sobita Gautam, a Member of Parliament from the Rastriya Swatantra Party, has accused that some Nepali people were also taken to the program attended by the Prime Minister in Spain and did not return.
She had previously made public a list of 55 individuals along with some documents through the media, claiming that these people had left for Spain but did not return.
Regarding this matter, Home Minister Lekhak has also directed an investigation, as informed by his secretariat. "The probe will examine who participated, their mode of travel, and how they secured visas and other formalities," the Home Minister’s office said.
Now, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police and the Anti-Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau will investigate this matter.
