Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP) has taken action against Chairperson Ranjita Shrestha.
A meeting of the founding central members convened on Wednesday relieved Shrestha of her role as chairperson, said Ramlal Dangaura Tharu, the coordinator of the party’s disciplinary committee.
The meeting passed the disciplinary committee’s proposal with a majority of votes.
“A majority of founding central members had sought clarification from Chairperson Shrestha,” said Coordinator Tharu. “However, she neither provided any clarification nor attended the meeting. Hence, the disciplinary committee’s proposal to remove her from the chairperson’s position was approved.”
