A falling tree crushed two persons to death and injured three others at Bastipur of Hariharpurgadhi Rural Municipality-1 in Sindhuli district on Friday afternoon.
According to Deputy Superintendent at the District Police Office, Surya Prakash Subedi, the incident occurred this afternoon when a heavy rain caused a landslide, and a tree fell on a shelter where the victims were staying.
Nine-year-old Sarki Thing and 16-year-old Shanta Gole, who were taking shelter in the hut, died in the incident.
The both of them died on the spot, the police added.
Similarly, 14-year-old Srijana Maya, 15-year-old Sandhya Blon, and seven-year-old Sushil Thing sustained injuries in the incident.
They have been taken to Hetauda Hospital for treatment.
