Nepali Congress Bagmati Province PP leader Indra Baniya along with his team submitting his claim for the post of Chief Minister to the Province Chief.
The newly elected Parliamentary Party Leader of Nepali Congress Bagmati Province, Indra Bahadur Baniya, has staked a claim for the post of Chief Minister.
Baniya submitted his claim to the Chief of Bagmati Province, Deepak Prasad Devkota, with the backing of CPN (UML) lawmakers this afternoon, requesting that he be appointed as the Chief Minister of the province.
Province Chief had asked the provincial lawmakers to stake their claim for the post of Chief Minister in accordance with Article 168 (2) of the Constitution. The post of the Chief Minister was lying vacant after the immediate-past Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama resigned.
In the 110-member Bagmati Province Assembly, Baniya has staked his claim for the post with the support of 64 lawmakers including 37 lawmakers from NC and 27 from UML.
In the claim petition for the post of Chief Minister, NC PP leader Baniya and UML PP leader Jagannath Thapaliya have signed.
