The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has said that 150 players are going to take part in the auction for the second edition of Nepal Premier League (NPL).
Issuing a press note on Wednesday, CAN informed that 150 players have been selected for the auction based on the criteria set by the technical committee. As many as 458 players had registered their names.
According to the press note category 'A,' players include Mohammad Adil Alam, along with Arjun Saud, Dilip Nath, Dev Khanal, Pawan Sarraf, Sharad Vesawkar, Surya Tamang, and Sunam Gautam.
Adil, who was banned on charges of spot-fixing in the Nepal T20 League, has been included in Category 'A.' The court had acquitted him, citing insufficient evidence of fixing, and the International Cricket Council (ICC) had lifted all sanctions against him.
In the auction, Category 'A' will have 8 players, Category 'B' will have 34, and Category 'C' will have 108 players.
Although there are 150 players listed for the auction, only 37 players will be sold.
For the second edition of the NPL, all teams have already retained and released their players. Now, only 4 players from Category 'A,' 23 from Category 'B,' and 10 from Category 'C' will be bought and sold.
Players in Category 'A' will have a minimum bid ranging from 1 million to 1.5 million rupees. Players in Category 'B' will have a minimum bid of 500,000 to 1 million rupees, while those in Category 'C' will range between 200,000 to 500,000 rupees.
The player auction will be held on August 9 in Kathmandu.
