Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba held discussions with party leaders, including Vice-President Purna Bahadur Khadka and General Secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma, to finalize guidelines for party representatives at various levels.

The meeting, held at Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha, focused on refining the directives for elected representatives to ensure better governance and accountability.

NC Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel confirmed the progress, stating, "The party has prepared guidelines for representatives at different levels. The Central Committee will review and finalize it soon. The process is nearly complete."

The move comes amid recent controversies, including the manipulation of the "cooling period" clause in the Federal Civil Service Bill. NC has taken steps to address ethical concerns, particularly after a parliamentary probe committee implicated its leaders, including State Affairs Committee Chairman Ramhari Khatiwada, in the issue.

Additionally, discussions were held regarding pending conventions of sister organizations. Paudel added, "The steering committee has been authorized to conduct overdue conventions of sister organizations. Terms of Reference (ToR) are being finalized, with only minor details remaining."

The NC’s efforts reflect its push for internal discipline and transparency ahead of crucial political engagements.
