The police have fired two rounds of shots in order to arrest drug peddlers in Mithila Municipality-6 in Dhanusha district on Wednesday.
Pappu Sah, 48, of Dhalkebar in Mithila Municipality-6, sustained critical injuries in the firing opened by the police.
A team of Narcotic Drug Control Bureau, Kathmandu fired two rounds of shots – one into the air and the other at the right leg below the knee before taking Sah under control.
Brown heroin weighing 100 grams were recovered from the possession of Sah, the Bureau has said. Similarly, 27-year-old Selo Devi Ram of Parwanipur Rural Municipality-3, Lipanimal, has also been arrested in connection with the drug peddling.
Brown heroin weighing 108 grams has also been recovered from her possession.
Earlier, Pappu had been released after serving a two-year jail term in a drug peddling case.
