Visiting Foreign Secretary of India, Vikram Misri, has reaffirmed strong Nepal-India partnership and deep civilizational ties during a courtesy meeting with Prime Minister of Nepal, KP Sharma Oli.
In the meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister in Singha Durbar this afternoon, the matters of mutual interest and bilateral partnership were discussed to further bolster Nepal-India ties, according to the Foreign Ministry.
"Foreign Secretary Misri reaffirmed the deep civilizational ties and strong India-Nepal partnership, and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation across various sectors," the Indian Embassy mentioned on X following the meeting.

Misri arrived on a two-day official visit to Nepal this morning at the invitation of his Nepali Counterpart Amrit Bahadur Rai. The Indian side has proposed the September 16-17 for Prime Minister Oli's India visit. However, the dates have not been fixed yet.
After meeting with Prime Minister Oli, Misri paid a courtesy call on President Ram Chandra Paudel.
In the meeting held at Sheetal Niwas, Visiting Foreign Secretary conveyed greetings of the Indian leadership, apart from briefing the President on the progress in bilateral ties.

Indian Foreign Secretary's Nepal visit reflects the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between India and Nepal, and reaffirms the commitment to the Neighborhood First policy, the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu mentioned on X.
During his stay, Foreign Secretary Misri is also scheduled to hold meetings with the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Foreign Secretary, and other officials. He will return to India on Monday.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the discussions between the two secretaries will focus on various aspects of Nepal-India partnership, including connectivity, development cooperation, and matters of mutual interest during the meeting.
