A wife died and her husband sustained critical injuries whe a speeding truck hit a motorcycle along the East-West Highway at Damak Municipality-7, Pashudanda on Tuesday morning.
According to the District Police Office, Jhapa, the truck, Pro1-02-002 Kha 09120, heading to Padajunge from Damak hit the motorcycle, Pro1001-012 Pa 9312, coming from the opposite direction.
The deceased has been identified as Muna Gautam, 42, of Kamal Rural Municipality-5, who was riding pillion. Her husband Sukdev Gautam, 43, sustained minor injuries. He is undergoing treatment at Damak Hospital, the police said.
According to the police, they are investigating the case after taking the truck diver of Laliguras Municipality-4, Tehrathum Angdawa Sherpa.
