The Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Nepal held a telephone conversation on Tuesday, reviewing three decades of diplomatic relations and mapping out an ambitious path for future cooperation in trade, tourism, and multilateral affairs.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Nepali counterpart, Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, used the call to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations. The ministers expressed great satisfaction with the recent high-level contacts, specifically highlighting the successful visit of the President of Nepal to Baku for the COP29 climate conference.
The conversation covered a wide range of bilateral and international issues. Dr. Rana Deuba opened the call by extending her congratulations to Azerbaijan.
“Nepal’s Foreign Minister, Arzu Rana Deuba, congratulated Azerbaijan on the agreements reached with the United States during the Azerbaijani President's recent visit, and also praised the breakthroughs in the Azerbaijan-Armenia reconciliation process,” the Azerbaijan State News Agency stated.
Building on this diplomatic goodwill, both ministers emphasized the critical need to build tangible economic and cultural links. They reviewed the current state and significant potential for expanding ties in key areas such as trade, tourism, and humanitarian affairs.
The two ministers hailed their mutual support within international organizations and specifically within the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), underscoring a shared commitment to strengthening these partnerships.
The two parties also discussed issues of mutual interest, further bolstering the friendship and strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Nepal.
